SMARTGARDEN

Photo Contest

Garden shutterbugs get your cameras ready. As part of the ongoing SMARTGARDEN program, the American Horticultural Society is sponsoring a contest for the best photographs of gardens that reflect a sense of identity with the climate, native vegetation, and architecture of different regions of North America. The six winning photographs will be published in The American Gardener and on the Society's Web site, along with information about the photographer and the garden. The winning photographers will receive a one-year AHS membership (or extension of an existing membership) and an AHS-logo T-shirt.
  • To be eligible for the contest, gardens depicted in the submitted photographs must not have changed significantly since the photograph was taken.
  • Submitted photographs should only depict gardens that surround or are attached to private homes; gardens at commercial establishments or public facilities are not eligible.
  • Gardens depicted in submitted photographs do not necessarily have to be owned by the photographer, but garden owners must agree to allow their garden to be submitted to the contest and sign the release form below.
