The American Gardener magazine features in-depth articles on new plants, influential garden personalities, garden history, and earth friendly gardening techniques and products. There are also regular departments on design, children’s gardening, habitat gardening, conservation issues, and reviews of the latest gardening books, as well as a calendar of gardening events nationwide. Designed with avid gardeners in mind, this critically acclaimed bi-monthly magazine is illustrated with inspiring full-color photographs of the plants and gardens being profiled. $10 of annual dues go toward The American Gardener magazine subscription.

Since January 1, 2001, the full contents of each new issue of The American Gardener has been available online for American Horticultural Society (AHS) members, who can enter their username (ahs) and a password to view each issue in its entirety.
