Landscape and Gardens,
Project Manager
Summary of
Responsibilities:
The New York Botanical Garden, a National Historic Landmark and one
of New York City’s premier cultural institutions seeks a dynamic
Landscape and Gardens Project Manager. The Landscape and Gardens
Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that best horticultural
practices are implemented during the planning, design, and
construction of capital projects that impact the landscape, gardens,
and living collections of the New York Botanical Garden., including
garden and landscape restorations and new garden construction. The
Landscape and Gardens Project Manager will work with Horticulture
staff to develop construction and landscape protection
specifications, to create planting lists and source plants for
restorations and new construction, and ensure that best
horticultural practices are implemented during all phases of the
projects.
Requirements:
- BA or BS in Landscape
Architecture, Horticulture or related major preferred.
- Advanced degree a
plus.
- Garden or landscape
design, civic engineering or landscape construction management
experience required.
- Knowledge of diverse
plant material and advanced horticultural techniques pertaining
to the construction or restoration of landscapes and gardens.
- Knowledge of LEED®
Certification and other design and construction standards
related to environmental sustainability.
- Strong oral and
written communication skills.
- Excellent computer
skills that include CAD, project management and Excel.
- Excellent
interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and
interpret plans.
- Experience with public
facilities and cultural institutions a plus.

Professor and Director
The University of
Washington College of Forest Resources invites applications for the
position of Professor and Director of the University of Washington
Botanic Gardens (UWBG). UWBG has a notable reputation for
horticulture, restoration, urban forestry, sustainable urbanizing
ecosystems, conservation, and plant collections. The Director
provides administrative, academic, and development leadership and
builds and maintains relationships with other University programs,
regional to international academic institutions, and public and
private agencies and organizations.

Global Brassica & Leafy
Crop Lead
The individual in this role
will provide global leadership for Technology Development programs
that select final products for commercialization and build
supporting data for FAB’s and recommendations. These will include
traits that confer benefits in agronomic production and consumer
platform within defined crop family as well as hybrids. The
successful candidate will report to the Global Technology
Development Lead and will work closely with Research Associate
Director and Global Product Management Team. This person will be a
member of the Seminis Global Technology Development Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
Global Development of New
Products within the Brassica and Leafy Crop Families
- Serve as TD
representative on Global Crop Teams
- Develop and coordinate
field testing programs for PCM3 to CM and specialized testing
including but not limited to traits, seed treatments, and
rootstock development
- Coordinate development
of data management and reporting systems
- Coordinate the
collection of ZMIT, and SSBS data tools within the TD
organization
- Provide TD
representation to Strategic Traits Initiatives
- Timely reporting of
results, delivering recommendations to Regional and Global
senior management and Crop Teams
- Provide feedback to
Research (Breeding, Consumer Platform) that refines direction
and guides R&D investment
- Integrate marker
technology to ensure synchronization of germplasm improvement
with trait deployment – determine trait stacking strategy
- Provide input to Legal
on the development and execution of confidentiality, research,
and commercial agreements; key technical resource for IP
protection
- Ensure product
stewardship according to Seminis and industry best practices,
and regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local
requirements
- Lead issue management
and resolution of performance inquiries
- Budget and Forecast
Phase 1 hybrids production and manage allocation within
organization.
Global Product
Commercialization within the Root and Bulb Crop Families
- In cooperation with
Product Management, establish the value and potential
positioning of Seminis hybrids and agronomic traits
- Develop relationships
with strategic partners and ISG companies that guide product
development, establish routes to market, and create value
Required Skills/Experience:
- M.S. (Ph.D. desirable)
in agronomy, genetics, nutrition, or related discipline
- Demonstrated abilities
to develop project plans, analyze and interpret data, take
projects from R&D to commercialization with 5 years experience
- Aptitude for
relationship building and influencing with personnel outside
Seminis
- Excellent facilitation

Horticulturist
The Hartford Golf Club is
looking for a full time, year round horticulturist to begin
employment immediately. HGC is a private country club located in
West Hartford Connecticut. The right person for our position will
have a minimum of three years experience, a degree in horticulture
or related field and experience in creating and maintaining
perennial gardens. Other job responsibilities include budgeting,
purchasing, record keeping, and presentations to club members.
